TRAVEL WITH US
For obvious reasons, the former Eastern bloc countries were not a travel destination for most Americans during the more than 40 years of communist rule. Today the Iron Curtain is history. But for many Americans Central Europe is still a mysterious place. This uncertainty, in addition to the language challenge and perceived safety issues, prevents many from traveling to this part of the world, particularly outside the main visited areas. Central Europe, however, has blossomed since the end of communism.
We are a friendly company specializing in small group tours of Central Europe. Each of our tours is designed to balance a mix of sightseeing with the group, exploration on your own, or simple relaxation. You will see the highlights, but you will also see those out-of-the-way gems that will be long remembered after you return home.
Our tours are special because groups are truly small – a maximum of 14 travelers. This allows for a more intimate experience with the surroundings and people you will encounter. Having a small group allows us to visit with families in their homes, visit with artisans in their studios, or take night visits to castles. Small groups give the freedom and flexibility to be spontaneous from a roadside stop for watermelon on a warm summer day to a private evening tour of a marionette museum.
Our main emphasis is to learn as much as possible about each country, not only about the history, culture, and natural beauty, but also about the people who live in the country today and their cuisine. We dine on delicious food in locally owned restaurants and stay in centrally located, privately operated hotels. Guides familiar with the local history give tours at every destination. There is usually time too for you to explore on your own and make your own discoveries, to relax in a town plaza, or explore shops that catch your interest.
Our tours are active. If there is a sight to see along the route from one destination to another it is included. If there is a good pastry shop along the way, a stop is made to indulge. And there is plenty of walking: a hike down a river gorge or a day-long tour of the history and architecture of a city. The evenings will be filled with perhaps pottery painting, bowling, conversation over a glass of good wine, or a walk along the sea at sunset. One thing we promise, you will not be bored on a EuroAm Travel Club tour!
